I sometimes find it easier to not punctuate because I can type faster. I also think it's a bit of rebellion--I am, at my heart, an English teacher and so I normally spend my time correcting things like that in my students' papers. But, really, I just like the way it looks. But I've been recently told that it can be annoying, so I'm trying to revert to standard practice. Who knows how long that will last? It's a biography about the lives of 5 granddaughters of Charles II of England. Have you heard of it? The book is mostly written based on the letters of the sisters, which I thought was neat. Anyway, I just started a blog on Wordpress and am looking at other people's sites who are working on dissertations (I am too--but not in literature). Anyway, Good luck!
